2020 Chicago River Dyeing & St. Patrick's Day Parade Have Been Cancelled
ABOUT THE CHICAGO RIVER DYEING & ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Dyeing of the Chicago River
The St. Patrick’ Day festivities start with the dyeing of the Chicago River to a bright, emerald green, a tradition that began over 50 years ago. On March 14th, watch the river change color before heading over to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade just down the street in Grant Park.
The river keeps its beautiful Irish coloring for only five hours so make sure you don’t miss it!
Where: Columbus Dr. & Wacker Dr.
When: 9:00 A.M., March 14th
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Chicago does St. Patrick’s Day right!!
The official Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade is one of the largest in the country. Celebrating its 65th year, the festive tradition celebrates all that is Irish. Wear your best (and most entertaining) green outfit and come out to see the awesome floats, Irish step dancers, and marching bands and bagpipers. Maybe some Leprechauns too, if you’re lucky!
Where: Columbus Dr. (staring at Balbo and continuing north to Monroe)
When: 12:00 P.M., March 14th
