ABOUT SOLDIER FIELD
Soldier Field opened in October of 1924 as Municipal Grant Park Stadium. The name was changed to Soldier Field on November 11, 1925, as a memorial to U.S. soldiers who had died in combat. Its design is Neoclassical style, with Doric columns rising above the East and West entrances.
In addition to being the storied home field of the Chicago Bears, Soldier Field has hosted everything from horse shoe contests, stock car racing, hockey games, music festivals, World Cup soccer matches, and more.
In addition, Soldier Field offers a variety of attractions to visitors, including:
- A Sledding Hill
- A Children’s Garden
- The Veteran’s Sculpture and Water Wall
- Banquet Facilities
