The City of Chicago will play host to the ITU World Triathlon Series (WTS) in 2014 and 2015, including the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final. Beginning June 27-29, 2014, the ITU World Triathlon Chicago will welcome the world’s top Olympic-distance triathletes as one of the stops on the WTS, alongside such cities as Auckland, Yokohama, London, Hamburg, Stockholm and Edmonton.
Chicago will be the third-ever U.S. city to host an ITU World Triathlon Series race – joining San Diego (2012 and 2013) and Washington D.C. (2009) – and the first to host the World Triathlon Series Grand Final since the series was founded in 2009. One-hundred and thirty of the world’s fastest triathletes – 65 elite men and 65 elite women – will compete in the draft-legal, Olympic-distance race (1,500-meter swim, 40-kilometer bike, 10-kilometer run) along the shores of Lake Michigan.
The ITU World Triathlon Chicago race course will include such famous landmarks as Grant Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, Soldier Field and Millennium Park, and will culminate with a loop around Buckingham Fountain at the finish.
To take part in this historic event and see the action up-close, be sure to enjoy the convenience of parking with Millennium Garages. With locations all around the landmark course, drivers will benefit from the easy and access of parking with Chicago’s leading park provider – Millennium Garages.
